The competition eliminations for the final season of this long-running reality talent show are underway – and, once again tonight, there’s a double elimination at the end of the evening, which will whittle it down to the Top 6. So far, the singers eliminated have been the weakest of the bunch – and there are still one or two to eliminate fairly obviously before getting down to the tough choices. But since it’s the voting public doing the eliminating, who can tell what will happen next? Especially in this political election year…
