The second episode of this new season (Season 11) of The X-Files features one of the characters from the show’s short-lived spinoff series, The Lone Gunmen. The character is Richard “Ringo” Langly, the actor is Dean Haglund, and the episode is called “This.” And what is “This” about? Basically, it’s about an alternate, artificially created universe where a person’s consciousness can be kept alive, indefinitely. It’s the same sci-fi plot device that already has been used on Netflix’s Black Mirror, and is about to be used on Amazon’s imminent Electric Dreams series.
