BIANCULLI’S BEST BETS

Animal Planet, 3:00 p.m. ET

It’s Puppy Bowl XI, with different blocks of animal cuteness served up every few hours on Animal Planet, starting at 3 p.m. ET. Different species, story lines, toys and other elements are provided by each, but I’m hoping for a timely, ripped-from-the-headlines Puppy Bowl controversy. Maybe an investigation on what they use to keep the competition infestation-free. Call it… Defleagate…

NBC, 6:00 p.m. ET

On the field, it’s the defending champion Seattle Seahawks vs. three-time Super Bowl champion New England Patriots. On the sidelines, its Seawhawks coach Pete Carroll vs. Patriots coach Bill Belichick. In the broadcast booth, it’s lots of talk about Deflategate. Throughout, there are the high-priced, high-profile ads. And at halftime, it’s Katy Perry, teamed with Lenny Kravitz. Hmmm. Guess which picture I’m going to pick to accompany this particular best bet… (Sorry, Lenny.)

TCM, 8:00 p.m. ET

This 2014 documentary is a history of the Academy Awards – and presented, tonight on TCM, for viewers who might get more enthused about Oscar trophies than Super Bowl ones. At 10 p.m. ET, this documentary is followed by a showing of the first movie to win an Academy Award as Best Picture: the aviation WWI action picture Wings (pictured), from 1927. Only two silent motion pictures in history have won the Best Picture Oscar – this one, which won the year Hollywood began its transition to sound, and The Artist, which won in 2012, 85 years later.

PBS, 9:00 p.m. ET

A lot’s going on in tonight’s fifth episode of Season 5: Anna’s secret is closer to surfacing, as is a new friend of Rose’s, while Daisy tries to help others find happiness. Check local listings.

NBC, 10:15 p.m. ET

SERIES RETURN: Part 1 of 2. The post-Super Bowl slot used to be the perfect slot for a network with rights to the big game that year to launch a new series. The past few years, it’s been employed instead as the perfect place to re-launch a series, and gain a huge, previously untapped audience sampling. Tonight NBC’s The Blacklist gets that honor, and relaunches its winter season with a two-part episode – which means it’s teasing new viewers with a cliffhanger, hoping they’ll follow as the show moves to its new night on Thursdays. James Spader stars as Red Reddington, an FBI most-wanted fugitive who’s actually working, in top secret, with an FBI task force. Tonight’s plot makes that clear for new viewers, but also muddies the waters, because Red is captured by an FBI operative who knows nothing about Red’s undercover status. That operative, by the way, is played by guest star Ron Perlman (pictured), returning to TV after Sons of Anarchy.

Para penipu ini mengira orang-orang itu bodoh. Modus penipuan yang sama, omong kosong yang sama.
