Joel was crushed last week, watching Julia bring another man to a family gathering. And just as the divorce is about to be finalized, he makes one last plea for them to reunite and work things out. But Parenthood doesn’t always go in for happy endings – and with this particular relationship, it’s not even certain which ending should be considered the happy one.

Preceding the newest spy series from BBC America is this classic early James Bond movie, from 1962 and starring Sean Connery as the original, and still champion, 007. It’s got fight scenes and Bond girls and gadgets galore – but not Pussy Galore. She’s in Goldfinger.

Don’t be lazy and miss this installment of Nature. It’s called A Sloth Named Velcro, and tells of a three-toed sloth raised by a journalist after being orphaned (the sloth, not the journalist). What a sight. What a program. Check local listings.

And now for something completely different. Last night’s “Democalypse 2014” Daily Show election special was another slam dunk. And tonight, back to “normal,” Stewart plays host to a guest who, in the annals of comedy, is anything but: John Cleese.

Well, not EVERYTHING. Not even a Charlie Rose table. But my Apexart exhibit on TV history does have a lot of things Stefon from Saturday Night Live might love, including the finale act-break note cards from Breaking Bad...

SEASON PREMIERE: The only chefs who seem unafraid of Gordon Ramsay are the ones so small that he’d be vilified for abusing them, even verbally – and that’s no minor part of this small-fry spinoff’s success. Though it is, quite literally, a minor element.
