WE, 8 p.m. ET Ron Howard directed this movie in 1984, when both he and Tom Hanks were striving to outdistance their early reputations as sitcom stars - Howard as little Opie on The Andy Griffith Show, and Hanks as one of the opportunistic cross-dressers on Bosom Buddies. It's a delightful little film, but also watch how other actors, besides Hanks, steal their own scenes as well: the funny John Candy, for one, and the very finny Daryl Hannah, for another. |
