SEASON PREMIERE: This is Season 3 for Noah Hawley’s reimagining of the Coen Brothers
Fargo ethos – the third time he’s started from scratch and introduced a new setting, plot, and cast of characters. And for the third time, based on tonight’s kickoff episode, he’s struck gold yet again. Ewan McGregor, in a dual role as very different brothers Emmit and Ray Stussy, is amazingly good, twice. And Mary Elizabeth Winstead, as Ray’s ex-con girlfriend and aspiring competitive bridge player, is a scene-stealer from the start, and not just because of her swagger and wardrobe. Oh, and there’s a death scene in tonight’s opener you simply can’t miss. For my full review, listen today to NPR’s
