SEASON FINALE: This series, a prequel and intermediate variant to the familiar Batman story from DC Comics, has been all about reinvention and new identities, many of them dramatic. Characters, over time on this series, have morphed into the Riddler, come very close to familiar alter egos as Poison Ivy and Catwoman, taken on more of the attributes and attitudes of the Penguin, and even stepped closer to the dark vengefulness of Batman himself. Two weeks ago, Morena Baccarin’s Lee, who star

The Pittsburgh Penguins won the first two games. The Nashville Predators won Game 3. And now, we arrive at Game 4, which either will even the series at two games apiece, or give the scrappy Penguins an imposing 3-1 advantage.

June is Audrey Hepburn month on TCM, where her films will be celebrated every Monday in June.  And the event begins, quite tastefully, with one of her most incandescent romantic comedies: 1953’s Roman Holiday, in which she stars as a princess on holiday in Rome, falling in love with an American reporter played by Gregory Peck.

DOCUMENTARY PREMIERE: The indefatigable Carl Reiner is behind this new, defiantly cheerful documentary, in which he visits with fellow nonagenarians to talk about their approaches to life, love, diet, exercise, hobbies, and not dying. (My own father, even in his 70s, was fond of saying, “At my age, I don’t even buy green bananas.”) In one segment, Reiner sits with Mel Brooks and Norman Lear, all of whom have been mutual friends for more than 65 years – and all three of th

My past of late has come back to haunt me … on TV that is. Twin Peaks mattered to me. I talked about it with such euphoria that my editor suggested I write a review. I did. It was my first. My career as a television critic was born...

SERIES PREMIERE: News junkies have been awaiting, or at least anticipating, this new NBC showcase for Megyn Kelly ever since she left Fox News, shortly after she famously quizzed Donald Trump, at that first Republican National Debate (pictured), about his remarks about women. Now she’s got s show of her own, and her opening night guest is another man whose opinions are famously gruff and bellicose: Soviet leader Vladimir Putin.

Game 2. The Golden State Warriors handily trounced the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 1 of this 2017 series, by a commanding score of 113-91.  But there was a similar blowout victory by the Warriors last year, against these same Cavaliers, and the Cavs ended up winning the trophy. So don’t count out either team yet – not even close. Not even if the first games are not close.

SERIES FINALE: I can’t remember the last time this has happened on TV – so if you can, let me know. Carrie Coon, right now, is at the center of two key investigations on two quality TV series, running on TV at the same time. One is FX’s Fargo, televised on Wednesdays, where she plays a police chief – and the other is The Leftovers, which concludes its series run tonight, with Coon (pictured, with co-star Justin Theroux) playing a woman trying to understand the sudden disa
